Destiny & Purpose

Like most of you, Gary and I are working hard this year to stay on track with what God has for us. We have been inspired by a quote from leadership Expert Simon Sinek

"Optimism is the ability to focus on where we're going. Not where we're coming from."

It’s not that we want to ignore where we have been, but we know that Jesus has more for us. We are going from glory to glory and learning what it means for us in the day to day. As leaders, it is fundamental that we are always going where Jesus leads us because, whether we like it or not, our journey impacts those entrusted to our leadership.

This year, Gary and I are working on becoming even stronger at “destiny support”. You know, at prophetically seeing what God has placed on a person’s life. Talking to people about who they were created to be and helping them to see themselves the way God sees them.

Scripture articulates to us in Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

One current crisis in our country relates to the millions of aborted lives which leaves a sizeable deficit of destinies that God intended to fulfill. This is certainly an issue to be dealt with as we seek God’s guidance for our country and for families… however we are talking about another issue.

There are also countless people alive today that have no idea why God created them or what God created them to do. What good works are yet undone because the people under our leadership are unsure about their destiny? What are we able to do this year to help them see themselves as God sees them? What can we do to encourage them to do the works God that he created them to do?

The way we see it, a person who is not filled with the Spirit of God and walking out their destiny, is like an uninflated balloon. You can imagine what color it is, you can only imagine the potential for beauty and dimension. However, when the air fills the once empty balloon… and it expands, we begin to witness its growth and potential to become something more. The more air that enters the balloon, the more clearly we see its beauty and experience what it was created to be...possibilities.

We as leaders are wise to take the opportunity also to be filled to our fullest potential. By doing this we will influence and bless the individuals under our leadership to do the same. God knew you would be alive at this time in history. He knew who you would be strategically placed to influence. You were placed here for such a time as this!

The world needs you to be the person you were created to be and to inspire others to do the same.
