I was living in a house with my husband (separated) although we were not together and he didn't truly live there. The house had a kitchen with an island in the middle that had a wood cork countertop and the countertop started splitting and then it kind of broke apart and I realized that we were going to have to replace the countertop. At first it was OK cause I was going to replace it with something pretty like granite then a newish friend’s husband from my church came over and was helping us with something and he saw that all around the outside of the kitchen walls the wood with rotting and coming off. And the house so is basically coming apart and I was so angry because we were gonna have to just replace it all and spend like $60,000 on a new kitchen.
So I was so angry and I was looking around for some type of solution and saw a door that led to like a halfstep down basement or just some other area like a large pantry or closet. It had cement floors like a basement. And there was a hole in the kitchen too - that piece is foggy. Inside the closet there were tons of appliances; all white stove and dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer and some type a little flat top Grill thing that was white. In this room was a small broom closet and inside was a little royal blue (like Dr. Seuss books) dog that had been locked in that room for God only knows how long.
Passing through that room of appliances there was actually a really nice kitchen. I was thinking that we could stay here in this really nice kitchen until our kitchen is fixed up and so I was planning on doing that. The kitchen was gorgeous. It was so beautiful I actually forgot about the old kitchen and having to fix it. I remember having to think really hard to remember if I was in the same house.
I remember being angry at the previous owners for hiding all the flaws of the old house and then finding it so odd that they locked their dogs in that middle basement/closet along with all the appliances. And how odd that the dogs came out so happy and healthy looking.
