The number 13 is commonly associated with the idea of rebellion. Jesus described thirteen things that make up a rebellious and depraved heart in Mark 7:21-22. Also note that there is a direct relationship between the number 13 and rebellion found inthe book of Genesis. "Twelve years they had served Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled." Genesis 14:4 (ESV).
