A tornado is a weather phenomenon resulting from a storm system. Depending upon its F-scale intensity it can range from dangerous to extremely destructive and deadly. As a symbol the tornado is frequently associated with a test or trial (storms of life) and can often indicate something destructive that is coming. As with most symbols, context is important and thus while a dark, ominous storm that is tearing things apart may be a negative symbol, a bright, light colored storm that is pulling up hindrances could be a positive symbol.
