I was inside a reasonably big and decent mall. Maybe there was one scene before then, maybe not; I don't remember. But my new apartment was inside this mall, in one of the storefronts, which was weird. Then I was outside the mall, behind it, on an unbelievably steep bluff or hill, way up high. It was grassy, and similar hills/bluffs/mountains (or rises of the same hill, hard to tell) were almost shoulder-to-shoulder in a ring around a very deep hole or void. It was daytime. This was in the Phoenix, AZ metro, but it was not desert at all. People were around me, and patches of snow covered some areas, and you could see the grass in some areas. The dream wasn't pixelated - at all - but the outside still looked like Minecraft.
I was telling somebody how, because of how mild this winter was in the Southwest, I almost didn't think I would be able to see decent snow out here this winter, and I believe I said how cold and snowy it was this winter back where I came from in the Eastern US (the most probably in 25 years). I was pleasantly surprised and was taking pictures with my phone, probably in a landscape orientation, taking them to the left, to the right, wherever. Then right across the pit from behind the mall, I could see what almost looked like a single one of these hills that something had split vertically into two, at some time, right down the middle. It was all impressive, but especially this split hill or two hills!
I walked towards it to take pictures, but started to slip towards the hole. I slipped a few feet or so and stopped, just before the slope was almost completely vertical, but couldn't get back up the hill. I continued taking pictures, probably using a portrait orientation. The split between the hill(s) was at 12 o'clock from my position, and it was at eye-level. Planks of wood appeared in the distance, between me and the split hill, and came right up towards me, but stopped maybe a few feet in front. They were combined, probably nailed, in nonsensical ways that had no purpose or structure. I finished taking pictures, then used my voice and asked the crowd for help. A child extended their hand and pulled me up, back to the top of the hill. I thanked them and probably even said that I needed somebody to pull me back out.
I was never scared or felt any negative feeling, during the dream or right after I woke, even when I slipped, and even the planks came. If anything, I felt joy.
